“BEST PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AWARD”

ALLISTON & DISTRICT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – 2014

Roxanne C. Shank

Hons B.A., M.A., J.D.

Barrister, Solicitor, and Notary

I have extensive litigation experience, and have practiced in both family law and civil law at several full-service boutique firms in Toronto, Midland and Alcona. I see my role as a responsibility and a privilege. It really is a great blessing to be a part of the New Tec community, which embodies the best of small town and country. I have considerable experience assisting couples in achieving family law settlements via court proceedings, as well as by way of negotiated agreements.

I have appeared in the Barrie, Orangeville, Newmarket, Collingwood, Midland and Brampton courts. I earned my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto and have an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree as well as a Master of Arts degree in philosophy from Brock University. I have completed Levels I and II of the Collaborative Law Training Program and am a member of Collaborative Practice, Simcoe County, and the Ontario Association for Family Mediators.

I am a member in good legal standing with the Law Society of Ontario; a panelled member with Legal Aid of Ontario; and a member of the Simcoe County Family Law Lawyers’ Association (SCFFLA), and the Simcoe County Lawyer’s Association (SCLA).

Within the local community, I am a member of the Rotary Club, and the Alliston Business Improvement Association (ABIA). I am part of the Alliston Quilting Corners Guild and the York Region Quilt Guild, and work with my friends in producing and donating quilts to women’s shelters, homeless shelters, veterans and other charities.
